What cable services do igus® offer?

It is no surprise that the digitalisation of the world is well and truly in full swing. AI and chatbots are doing more and more of the “talking”, which personally, I feel is quite a scary concept, but this is the world we now live in.

What has recently become more apparent is the need for supply chains to remain uninterrupted. This is not a new concept, however, services that are required to protect these supply chains have had to ramp up their game. Services like cable services, and not just the availability of that service, the manner in which the service is delivered. igus® prides itself on ensuring that we can offer cables services worldwide. How do we do it? Let’s see….

What cable services do igus® offer?

At igus® we try to make life as simple as possible when it comes to your machines. Whether this is purchasing cables, retro-fitting cables or recycling cables, our cable services are designed to be easy.

The igus® brand of cables, the chainflex® cable range, spans across a wide variety of cable types. This should allow most applications to be covered.

Ordering:

We have a chainflex® cable shop which has all the cables displayed clearly, with filters to help identity the ideal cable for your machine or application. Where possible, there is a price, delivery time and technical information. With just a few clicks, the cables are ordered and all you have to do is sit back and relax.

How digital are the cables services offered by igus®?

Great question and the answer is: very. We are aware that as a company with a vast number of products, which increases every year, that it can be a bit of a minefield, however, we are doing our best to improve and optimise the website to make it as user-friendly as possible.

As previously mentioned, the shop is online, the catalogues are online, actually we no longer print out the UK versions. Our online tools are all digital. Our contact channels are digital. We don’t even have to physically visit your site, we can have a Teams meeting to show you the range of cables or other products we offer.

What recycling cable services do igus® offer, if any?

One of our goals as a company is to be carbon neutral by 2025. We can only do this if our focus is on sustainability and looking at new innovations and technologies.

One of the key ones that we have adopted in the UK is the chainflex® recycling programme. This programme is designed to give customers a system of recycling their old cables when they replace them with new ones.

Customers can return them to our UK office and we will then send them off to our trusted certified partner, a recycling processor. It is their policy to provide a fully auditable and sustainable alternative to landfill or the secure disposal of metals, electrical, electronic and other equipment and materials.

As a thank you to our customers who partake in this sustainable scheme, we calculate the total proceeds generated from recycling the cables and plant trees, here you can read about trees we have planted locally to the UK office: https://blog.igus.co.uk/igus-tree-planting-for-the-queens-green-canopy/.

Whatever the issue, contact us and we will offer a solution.
